Introduction
Health Essayists & Authors League (Heal) is a not-for-profit group that strives to act as a platform for facilitating meaningful communication between journalist, health communicators, research scientists, doctors & policy makers with the purpose of raising public awareness on health issues and effecting desirable changes. Heal has been committed advocating policy making for long-term sustainable healthy living. Our work includes educating health professionals and communicators, strengthening health research network, fighting prejudices that harm society’s interests and supporting campaigns on smoke-free workplace, monitoring Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR), food labeling and creation ofeffective pharmaco vigilance systems.

- Rallied for formation of National Pharmaco vigilance advisory committee (NPAC) by Ministry of Health, Government of India
- Conducted over 22 workshops/ seminars/ public lectures for regular interactions with over 500 key stakeholders
- Advocated implementation of stricter anti tobacco use policies by of India, including smoke free workplace policy
- Provided a platform to promote the cause of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) monitoring
- Organized food festivals /public lectures/ camps on health across the country
- Sensitized health writers on food labeling guidelines.
